PAPALINE: THE SHAPE OF PASTA THAT PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE HISTORY OF BENEVENTO
A unique shape of pasta entirely ideated and patent filed by us, that pays tribute to the history of the city of Benevento, papal city for eight centuries from 1077 to 1860, a papal island in southern Italy. Benevento was administered by the papal representatives called “pontifical Rectors”, a long domination that involved a frenetic and tireless realization of churches, monasteries and convents and the Palazzo dei Rettori as well as the splendid Villa of the Popes.
Our shape of pasta takes its name from the round headgear worn by the Pope, it represents a tribute to the city that saw our business born in 1928 and synonymous with a strong territorial identity of our production. Its particular shape, inspired by the papal headdress, round and extremely concave, is able to pick up any seasoning in one bite; The Papaline are rough, porous and thickness such as to maintain its shape intact even after cooking.
